Nigeria’s quest of qualifying for the 2017 Nations Cup is now shaky as the Taifa Stars of Tanzania forced the Super Eagles to a goalless draw in Darem Salaam on Saturday.

The Eagles who are playing under a new coach, Sunday Oliseh, couldn’t break the host’s defence despite parading array of stars dominated by foreign based professionals.

New entrant Carl Ikeme who was standing in goal in the absence of skipper, Vincent Enyeama, was Nigeria’s best player on field as he made several saves to keep the match at goalless.

With the result, Nigeria now have four points from two games after winning the first match of the qualifiers 2-0 against Chad.

Egypt who defeated Tanzania 3-0 in their first match will play Chad on Sunday in Njemena.

Only the first team in the group will qualify for the 2017 AFCON billed for Gabon.
