Africa may have second coronavirus case, as Kenya probes case from visiting student

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday, stated that the number of people affected by the coronavirus disease has hit 46.

The rise in the number of cases followed confirmation of two new cases, one in Lagos State with the other case in Osun State.

That was the first case of the virus recorded in Osun State.

According to NCDC, the two affected persons were travellers who returned to Nigeria in the last seven days.

Announcing the development on its Twitter handle, NCDC wrote:

“Two new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria: 1 in Lagos and 1 in Osun.

“Both cases are returning travellers to Nigeria in the last 7 days.

“As at 07:00 am 25th March, there are 46 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. 2 have been discharged with 1 death.”
