Nigeria’s infectious diseases expert dies of COVID-19

An infectious diseases expert, Prof. Lovett Lawson, has died of COVID-19.

He died in quarantine at the National Hospital, Abuja, on Monday.

The Spokesman for the National Hospital, Dr. Tayo Haastrup, confirmed Lawson’s death on Monday evening.

He said: “ I can confirm that Prof. Lawson died at the National Hospital today. His loss is a painful one indeed.”

The deceased was the Chairman, Board of Directors, Zankli Medical Centre, Abuja.
