A student-Journalist of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Damilare Famuyiwa, who also doubles as a blogger has paid the ultimate price for allegedly leaking Korede Bello’s absence in school and his likelihood of missing out on the school’s examination for not meeting the 70% attendance of class criteria.

The student who leaked the story to the media may now be bearing the brunt of his action as there are suggestions that the management of the NIJ may have considered the leak as unfavourable and punished him with very low scores in virtually all his courses, while Korede got very high grades.

Damilare had two carry-overs and low grades in eight other courses offered last semester which ended February this year and on the other hand, Korede passed all his examination papers with good grades.

Damilare, who is a freelance journalist at The Nation Newspaper, an active member of the Nigerian Young Journalists Forum and Journalists For Christ had earlier been reportedly promised he’ll face worst scenario of academic hiccups all through his stay in the institute for daring to leak information about Korede’s absence in school
