N’Korea begins propaganda broadcasts against S’Korea

New cross-border tension brews as North Korea has resumed propaganda broadcasts via loudspeakers against South Korea.

The daily schedule of programming is a mix of K-pop, weather forecasts, news and political critiques broadcast via well stacked loudspeakers.

Reports say the loudspeaker broadcasts began at noon local time (03:00 GMT) on Friday and an official said the military heightened the level of alert around the locations where the propaganda was being broadcast.‎

The move is coming as the international community struggled to find common ground on how best to penalise North Korea following its announcement two days ago that it had successfully tested its first hydrogen bomb.
