N'Korea vows to sink US carrier, warns Australia of nuclear attack if it joins forces with America

Pariah nation, North Korea, has vowed to sink an approaching US aircraft carrier cruising towards the tense Korean peninsula.

Pyongyang has also sounded a note of warning to Australia vowing to strike it with nuclear weapons if it “blindly” followed its American ally.

North Korea, meanwhile, remained defiant over its growing nuclear and missile threat with one of its ministers saying: ‘We don’t take orders’

According to the Rodong Sinmun, the newspaper of the North’s ruling Workers’ Party, in a commentary on Sunday, “Our revolutionary forces are combat-ready to sink a US nuclear-powered aircraft carrier with a single strike”.

The paper likened the aircraft carrier to a “gross animal” and said a strike on it would be “an actual example to show our military’s force”.

North Korea’s threat to US and Australia is coming a day after a US citizen was arrested by cops in North Korea as he attempted to take a flight out of the country.

His arrest was confirmed by the Swedish embassy in North Korea which revealed that the Korean-American citizen was arrested at the Pyongyang airport while attempting to take a flight out of the country and was later detained.

Reports say at least two other Americans are currently detained in North Korea.
