Nnadozie, Falcons, Edo Queens make final shortlists for CAF Awards
Nigeria women’s national team, the Super Falcons, first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, and Edo Queens are in the running for CAF Awards 2024.
For the categories of best national team, women’s goalkeeper and best club team, the trio made the final shortlists for the awards.
Nnadozie is one of the five shotstoppers in the Goalkeeper of the Year category and will slug it out with South Africa’s Andile Dlamini of Mamelodi Sundowns and South Africa.
Other goalkeepers in the shortlist include Khadija Er-rmichi of ASFAR and Morocco, FC Masar and Egypt’s Habiba Sabry and Fideline Ngoy of TP Mazambe and DR Congo.

Recall that the Super Falcons goalie won the award at the 2023 CAF Awards, and stands a chance of repeating the feat in Morocco this year.
In the National Team of the Year category for women, Nigeria’s Falcons will battle for the gong against Cameroon, Morocco, Zambia and South Africa.
Nigeria women’s topflight club, Edo Queens, who finished fourth at the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League, will battle TP Mazembe, FC Masar, ASFAR and Mamelodi Sundowns for the club award.
Meanwhile, Falconets striker Chiamaka Okwuchukwu has also made the final five shortlist for the Young Player of the Year award.
