No corps member tested positive for COVID-19 in Cross River – NYSC

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Wednesday dismissed claims that some corps members tested positive for COVID-19 at the ongoing orientation exercise in the state.

Reports had said on Tuesday that 13 corps members tested positive for the virus in Cross River.

The NYSC Assistant Director of Press and Public Relations, Enuma Peter, who dismissed the report in a statement, said no corps members tested positive for COVID-19 at the Cross River orientation camp.

The statement read: “At no time was registered corps members tested positive for COVID-19 as everyone was tested before admittance to the camp.

“The management of the NYSC would also like to use this opportunity to add that all orientation camp officials and visitors to the camp are also continuously tested by officials of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) while the entire camp community ensures strict compliance with all COVID-19 protocols.

“For the emphasis, all corps members undergoing the NYSC orientation course in Cross River State tested negative for COVID-19 before they were registered.”
