Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has expressed fears that no Nigerian is safe under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The former minister and a fierce critic of Buhari’s government stated this in reaction to the travails of Senator Dino Melaye.

The move to recall Melaye had failed on April 28 after the people of his constituency refused to participate in the confirmation of signatories exercise organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the recall of the senator.

However, Senator Melaye is yet to extricate himself from the barrage of police problems hanging on his neck.

He was on Wednesday arraigned before an Abuja Magistrate Court on a strecher from hospital, was granted bail of N90 million but got rearrested by police right at the court same day.

On Thursday, police again arraigned him before a Kogi State Magistrate Court, where he was denied bail and was asked to remain in police custody for the 39 days.

In his reaction, Fani-Kayode, who recently mocked the embattled senator for all he has suffered under Buhari whom he supported against former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, argued that the only offence Melaye committed was his criticism of Buhari’s leadership.

He wrote, “This is nothing but cruelty and wickedness.
@MBuhari, have you not humiliated and disgraced
@dino_melaye enough? And all because he had the guts to oppose you? Call your thugs to order and do not allow them to kill this man! If you can do this to a senator then no-one is safe!”
