In his confessional statement, one of the suspects, Shehu said he had no regrets for being a robber as he noted that he joined the gang to please his wife.

“I don’t want my wife to lack anything; I can do anything to please her. I promised her that I will do everything to please her no matter what, not until I found myself in police net.

“I have no regrets because I voluntarily, willingly committed the crime so it doesn’t make sense to say I’m regretting, it is between me and Allah,” he said.

The arrest of the suspect and his accomplice was confirmed by the Niger Stat Police Public Relations Officer Muhammad Abubakar who revealed that a manhunt has been launched to apprehend another member of the gang who is currently at large.
