Inside Tinubu's lair

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, may have silenced those behind rumours of his purported plans to abandon the party.

There have been different reports on Tinubu’s plan to dump APC. One of which claimed that he was teaming up with former Vice President Abubakar Atiku and other aggrieved members of the APC and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to form a new mega party.

However, Tinubu, who played a very vital role in the formation of the ruling APC, doused the rumours of his abandoning the party in a series of tweets on his twitter handle on Monday.

In the tweets, Tinubu reiterated his commitment to the ruling party, describing APC as a party he devoted all his political life for its success, adding that having laboured with others to build the party, he was never going to abandon it for another.

“I have devoted my political life to achieve what has been achieved. My heart is too much of the people and my mind too fixed on establishing a positive historic legacy… rather than engage in destructive pettiness.

“This government, APC, is for the betterment of the people and the national purpose is bigger and more important than any individual’s desires. In our Journey to national betterment, plans and policies will be made, then amended. Mistakes will occur and then corrected.

“Achievements will be had and replicated. Through it all, I, Asiwaju will remain true to the progressive ideals that fuelled the creation of APC. This is a party I laboured with others to build. We would not abandon it for another. Millions of Nigerians who voted are watching and praying,” Tinubu said.

These tweets were not signed by Tinubu. How can we be sure he tweeted them? All of these however is to distract the common man. ApC have failed.

I think it’s just silly for anyone to think Tinubu will leave a party he developed with hard work and labour. He’s been through all the rough and good faces, what will now prompt him to leave?

Tinubu knows he has no choice than to remain in APC if he must remain relevant . I like his submission of ego to accept the party ideology.

I don’t trust Tinubu at all. With the current crisis in APC and how he’s being humiliated by his party members, it will be unwise for him not to have fall back plan. I don’t expect him to admit he’s dumping APC though, but he definitely has an alternative party in the work

You are sensible. That’s just it. He has to hide his plans for now and align with the ruling party he belongs to.

No reasonable person will destroy the good works he has done just because of trivial issues. Tinubu has done the right thing.
