Nollywood actor Goriola Hassan, ex-husband of Ayo Adesanya, in trouble for parading self as monarch

Nollywood actor and movie producer, Goriola Hassan, the ex-husband of actress Ayo Adesanya is currently in trouble over Imobi kingship in Ijebu-East Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Hassan, who doubles as a Nollywood actor and producer, reportedly risks being arrested for parading himself as the Oba of Imobi.

The Ogun State House of Assembly has threatened to order Hassan’s arrest should he fail to appear before it on August 17, 2021 after a second summon.

Its Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, said on Tuesday, that Hassan had earlier failed to honour an invitation sent to him by the lawmakers.

The committee also ordered Hassan to stop parading himself as a traditional ruler in Imobi.

The actor-cum-producer was also asked to appear before the House Committee with all the 36 Baales (local chiefs) under the community.

“Failure to honour the invitation would result in the issuance of an arrest warrant to all invitees, especially Goriola Hassan, who failed to honour an earlier invitation extended to him by the Assembly,” the committee chairman, Bolanle Ajayi said.

The committee summoned Hassan to appear before it next Tuesday, August 17, to respond to a petition written against him by a group known as the Imobi Descendants’ Union.

The Assembly was petitioned over Hassan’s purported claim to the kingship stool of Imobi-Ijebu.
