The five states in North East of Nigeria that are yet to record any COVID-19 case have begun to intensify efforts to prevent the pandemic in their states as Bauchi’s cases rose to six on Saturday.

Bauchi has remained the only North East state with record of coronavirus.

The other five states, Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, Yobe and Borno have no record of the virus.

After the number of cases in Bauchi rose to six on Saturday, the rest of the states in the region, it was learnt, began intensifying measures to make sure the disease did not spread to them.

Some of the precautionary measures being taken by the states include closure of borders, social distancing and appeal to citizens to take their personal hygiene seriously.
