North Korea promises to give US "missile gift"

Defiant North Korea led by headstrong leader Kim Jong Un has promised America bigger “gift packages” moments after its leader supervised new ballistic missile test and promises to develop more powerful weapons for defence.

While addressing local media, Kim said North Korea would continue to develop more powerful weapons in multiple phases.

Kim’s comments are coming a day after Japan said it will join forces with the US to apply sanctions against defiant North Korea over its continued missile tests to deter it from launching more projectiles.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe made such comments while fielding questions from newsmen after North Korea test-fired a Scud missile into Japanese waters, the third test in as many weeks and the 12th this year.

“We will never tolerate North Korea’s continued provocations that ignore repeated warnings by the international community,” Abe told reporters shortly after the test.

Pyongyang has continued to ruffle feathers by carrying out missile tests in defiance of UN sanctions warnings and US threats of possible military action.
