North Korea tests missile capability to carry nuclear warhead
Defiant North Korea led by headstrong leader Kim Jong Un has revealed that its latest test was aimed at verifying a missile’s capability to carry a ‘large scale heavy nuclear warhead’.
According to the official Korea Central News Agency (KCNA), Sunday’s launch was of a “new ground-to-ground medium long-range strategic ballistic rocket” named the Hwasong-12.
Reports say President Kim witnessed the launch and “hugged officials in the field of rocket research, saying that they worked hard to achieve a great thing”.
Kim had accused the United States of “browbeating” countries that “have no nukes” and warned Washington not to misjudge the reality that its mainland is in the North’s “sighting range for strike”, KCNA reported.
