Not April fool! Police to begin recruitment of 10,000 on April 1

The Police Service Commission, PSC, has announced the commenced of recruitment of 10,000 personnel into the Nigeria Police Force, NPF.

This is in line with a directive by President Muhammadu Buhari that more Nigerians be recruited into the Force to shore up its numbers, since there had been no recruitments in about five years.

Chairman of the PSC, and former Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mike Okiro who made the announcement on Wednesday in Abuja while unveiling the portal for the exercise, warned against the use of shortcuts during to beat the system.

According to him, the recruitment process would begin on April 1, when portal would be opened to the public.

Okiro called on Nigerians to access the portal through the commission’s website: www.psc.gov.ng or that of the Nigeria Police Force, www.npf.gov.ng, adding, that there would be no charges for processing on the form, which will be done online.

“We are not charging money. It is free, absolutely free”, he said.

He reiterated that everyone must go through due process, as shortcuts are unacceptable.
