NPFL: FC Ifeanyi Ubah wallop Remo Stars as Pillars edge Wikki

Newly promoted side of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Remo Stars’ struggle in the league continued as they were convincingly beaten 3-0 by FC IfeanyiUbah at the IfeanyiUbah International Stadium, Nnewi on Wednesday.

Godwin Obaje netted in twice, first in the 53rd minute from the spot and later during stoppage time, which added to Adou Blaise’s 84th minute strike to set up the win for the hosts.

The Nnewi side are now up to 14th on the league table, while Remo remain rooted to the bottom.

In another rescheduled game played on Wednesday, Ten-man Kano Pillars secured a 1-0 victory against Wikki Tourist at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, on Wednesday.

The only goal of the game came in the 35th minute through Alassan Ibrahim who scored directly from a corner kick.

Kano Pillars’ Nafiu Kabuga was sent off during stoppage time, but they went on to secure their sixth victory of the campaign, having had only two losses and three draws.

The win lifts Pillars from seventh to third on 20 points in the league table with a game in hand, while Wikki Tourist, wh have now lost six games, remain 19th on 11 points.
