NPFL: MFM close gap on Plateau United
League leaders Plateau United had their five-point lead cut down to two after second-placed MFM FC defeated ABS FC 2-1 on Sunday.
In the matchday 27 tie at the Agege Stadium in Lagos, MFM went ahead in the 17th minute after Austine Ogunye converted a penalty following a foul on Stephen Odey inside the box.
Sikiru Olatunbosun doubled their lead in the 61st minute before Wasiu Alabi got a goal back for ABS, but MFM held on to secure the win.
Meanwhile, in Maiduguri, Plateau United suffered a 1-0 defeat at El-Kanemi Warriors, which happened to be their seventh loss of the campaign.
The only goal of the game was scored in the 95th minute by Sunday Anthony which means El Kanemi moved up from fifth to fourth in the league table.

MFM now have 46 points from 27 matches played, only two points behind Plateau United, as the race for the title continues.
