NPFL All-Star LaLiga Tour: LMC hails Spanish Envoy for speedy visa approval

The League Management Company (LMC) has expressed appreciation to the Spanish Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency, Alfonso Barnuevo for the prompt attention they gave to visa requests for the NPFL All-Star team and delegation members.

Flowing from the Technical and Commercial partnership entered into by the LMC and the LaLiga for cooperation between the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and the Spanish Premier League, LaLiga, an all-star cast of the players from the NPFL will from Monday, August 8 begin a playing tour of Spain. The team will play a friendly match against Valencia CF and participate in the Trofeo Ramon de Carranza World Club tournament.

Shehu Dikko, the LMC Chairman said the promptness in attending to visa applications made at the Abuja Embassy and the Consulate in Lagos demonstrated the Ambassador’s commitment to the bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Spain and also a special interest in the NPFL-LaLiga partnership.

“The LMC wishes to express huge appreciation to His Excellency, the Ambassador of Spain, Alfonso Barnuevo who has shown exemplary interest in the partnership between the NPFL and LaLiga. Indeed his commitment to this relationship has been demonstrated on the occasions he left state duties to attend events of the NPLF-LaLiga.

“The prompt response to our visa requests in Abuja and Lagos is a major contribution to activating important aspects of the partnership and we are very delighted by this gesture”, Dikko said on Friday.

The delegation would depart Lagos on Monday for the tour which commences with the first match in Valencia City against Valencia CF on August 10 at 6.30pm.  The second game is against Malaga CF in the Carranza tourney on August 12 at 9.30pm.
