NSE: Guinness, Dangote Cement, PZ lead gainers as new trading week begins on a bullish note

Blue-chip stocks dominated the gainers’ list today, causing the Nigerian bourse to end on a bullish note with positive results recorded across its key performance parameters.

The All Share Index (ASI) climbed up by 0.60% to 26,695.18 basis points today as market capitalisation closed at N12.884 trillion, its highest in one week. Year to date, the index is down by 15.07%.

TOP 5 GAINERS

Guinness was chief among gainers, surging ahead others by 9.83% to close Monday’s trade at N32.40. Dangote Cement appreciated by 1.43% to end the day at N142. PZ came next, advancing by 9.52% to close at N5.75. The share price of UBA closed N7, indicating an 6.06% gain at the end of Monday trade. Access Bank completed the top five club, notching up 4.26% gain and closing at N9.8.

TOP 5 LOSERS

FBN Holdings went down by 3.85% to end the day at N6.25. UACN lost 1.69% of its share price, closing at N8.75. UPL dipped by 8.33% to end trade at N1.21. Neimeth slid by 9.09% to close at N0.60. Cornerstone fell by 9.09% to N0.60 to end today’s trade.

Access Bank was the most preferred stock at today’s as 41.163 million shares priced at N396.949 million were traded in 280 transactions. UBA traded 29.243 million shares valued at N201.962 million in 153 deals. 25.952 million units of Zenith Bank shares estimated at N479.810 million exchanged hands in 374 deals. GTB had 11.317 million of its shares traded for N332.862 million in 118 transactions. Transcorp traded 10.052 million shares worth N9.881 million in 55 deals to complete the top 5 stocks on the activity chart.
