NTTF unveils 'attractive' Prize Money for National Championships

Organizers of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) National Championships have unveiled the ‘mouth-watering’ prize money for the 5-day Table Tennis tournament holding in Lagos, beginning Tuesday November 15.

According to the Secretary General of NTTF, Chinedu Ezeala-Ogundare,
the prize money is aimed to make the tournament more competitive and
reward the efforts of the players.

“We have decided to make the prize money attractive for the players because this is another way to reward excellence from the players. We believe that this will make the championship competitive and encourage
the players to give their best in all their matches. Apart from this, it will afford some players the opportunity to catch the attention of the national team handlers as this is a platform for the federation to
discover new players for the national teams at cadet, junior and senior levels,” she said.

There will also be cash reward for cadet and junior players in the doubles, singles and team events, while para athletes and veterans will also be part of the largesse.

The Indoor Hall of the National Stadium and the National Training Centre will host the five-day championship with the grand finale
scheduled for Saturday November 19.
