NYSC donates 1,000 face masks produced by corps members to Niger govt

No less than 1,000 face masks, produced by corps members in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Garment Factory in Minna, have been donated to the Niger State government.

Mrs Funmilayo Ajayi, the NYSC coordinator in the state donated the face masks as part of the corps’ assistance in curbing the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

The state NYSC coordinator said while presenting the masks, that the corps members produced the masks as part of their quota to assist the government in the battle to curtail the spread of the novel Coronavirus in the state.

The masks were received by Emmanuel Umar, the state Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development. He commended the NYSC members for the gift and said that they had demonstrated their patriotism by joining in the fight against the pandemic.

Umar assured that the government of Niger State would not cease giving priority to the welfare and safety of corps members at their various places of primary assignment in the state.

Speaking at the event, Bala Mohammed, who represented Moses Aluyor, the Manager, NYSC Garment Factory, Niger State said that some corps members were trained on how to produce the masks.
