Obaseki says Edo govt has spent N1bn in fight against coronavirus
Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has said that his government was leading COVID-19 battle from the front and had spent over N1 billion to curtail its spread.
The governor stated this during a press briefing in Benin city at the weekend, adding that his administration was taking drastic measures to fight the virus not minding the state’s limited resources.
He said, “The government of Edo State is leading this battle from the front. We have already spent over N1 billion of our limited resources so far on this fight.
“We have constituted the Edo State committee which is made up of our sons and daughters who are captains of industries, religious leaders, traditional rulers to help us galvanise efforts at mobilizing resources to beef up the state government’s response to this pandemic.”

Edo State currently has 15 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
