OBJ, IBB, Shagari, Gowon absent at 2nd Council of State meeting under Buhari

Former Nigerian leaders Olusegun Obasanjo (OBJ), Ibrahim Babangida (IBB), Shehu Shagari and Yakubu Gowon, were absent at the Council of State meeting held in Abuja on Wednesday.

Leaders who were present at the meeting were current President Muhammadu Buhari, immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan, former Military President, Abdulsalami Abubakar and one-time Interim President, Chief Ernest Shonekan.

This is the second Council of State meeting under President Buhari as the first was held on the 21st of October 2015.

Jonathan attended the meeting for the first time since leaving office in May 2015.

The state governors at the meeting included those of Rivers, Borno, Niger, Imo, Cross River, Taraba, Yobe, Benue, Bauchi, Enugu, Kwara, Adamawa, Abia, Sokoto, Kaduna, Lagos, Kogi, Plateau, Jigawa, Kebbi, Katsina.
Former Chief Justices of Nigeria (CJN) at the meeting included Lawal Uwais, Mariam Muktar, Idris Kutigi and Alfa Belgore.
