Sale of national assets not a bad idea, Obasanjo says
Hon. Jibrin Abdulmumin, has said former President Olusegun Obasanjo was not wrong to say that National Assembly is corrupt.
The former Chairman of the Committee on Appropriation, though said he is not corrupt and has never been involved in any act of corruption as a House of Representative member.
He also said that the 2,000 insertions made into the 2016 budget by 10 chairmen of standing committees, were worth N284 billion.
The Kano state-born politician and whistle blower stated this in an interview with Channels Television Sunday night, adding that there was institutional corruption in the legislature.
He said, “Obasanjo is not entirely wrong, but we keep living in denial, but the fact remains that there is institutional corruption in the House.

“I have never been involved in any action of corruption, I have never shared money in the House of Representatives.”
According to him, the insertions of N4.1 billion constituency projects credited to him were a creation of Yakubu Dogara and the fingered principal officers to malign him.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, reacting to the budget padding allegation involving the Speaker of House of Representatives and some principal officers of the House, had described NASS members as ‘armed robbers and rogues’.
