Observers say election in Yobe was Peaceful

As Yobe rounds up the electoral process which saw the declaration of All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Alhaji Mai Mala Buni Governor-elect, Election observers, under the auspices of Coalition of INEC Accredited Election Observers in the state, have commended the people and security agencies for their peaceful conduct during Saturday’s election.

The coalition made the commendation in a statement jointly signed by the leaders of the team, Mrs. Tina Okoi of the Youth Initiative Empowerment, Ijewa Zeb Obioma of the Global Development Center for Research Mission in Nigeria and Danjuma Umaru of the Global Advocacy Leadership.

The group said the peaceful atmosphere and great sense of hospitality provided to them helped them to carry out their duty diligently.

“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the security agencies and operatives for their tireless efforts at maintaining law and order in the state during the election.

“We make bold to say that not less than was expected from them in this gubernatorial voting

“Our background findings revealed that Yobe State is predominantly an APC state, the state is deeply rooted in APC and has never been governed by another political party outside the party line up of APP, ANPP through APC”.
