Nigeria defender, Michael Odibe, emerged the super star after scoring and helping his club Concordia Chiajna escape relegation from the Romanian top-flight.

Odibe scored the only goal through a header as Concordia Chiajna defeated Petrolul Ploiesti Wednesday night with the club needing a point from their last two games in the relegation playoff.

Staring on a brighter note, Concordia opened scoring from a corner kick courtesy of a powerful header from Odibe past Petrolul’s goalkeeper in the 16th minute.

Petrolul had a lot of chances to equalise but spurned them all as Chiajna also missed a spot kick in the 52nd minute of the game.

Chiajna, who are captained by former Nigeria international, Christian Obodo, have now secured another season in the Romanian top-flight.
