OFFA ROBBERY: Court orders police, AGF to stay action on Saraki
An Abuja High Court sitting in Jabi and presided over by Justice M. A. Nasir has ordered the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Nigeria Police from taking any action against the Senate President Bukola Saraki over the Offa robbery incident.
Justice Nasir of Vacation Court 2, have the order on Wednesday restraining the respondents from interrogating, harassing, inviting, arresting and detaining Saraki, pending the hearing of the substantive matter filled by 10 human rights lawyers in a suit with number CV/2454/18.

The court Issued the order while delivering ruling in the motion number M/8280/2018 brought by 10 lawyers, led by Barrister Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere for the enforcement of the fundamental human rights of the Senate President.
The court order sighted by Ripples Nigeria, also placed an order for the AGF, IGP and the police to maintain the status quo and to “stay further action related to this suit pending the determination of the originating motion” fixed for August 16, 2018.
The police had invited Saraki over the statements of some suspects involved in the robbery incident, whom were said to have mentioned the senate president’s name.
About 30 people were killed when the armed bandits stormed Offa town in Kwara State, and robbed several banks.
