Ogun Civil Servants living in poverty, says TUC

The Trade Union Congress, TUC, Ogun State chapter, has said the conditions of civil servants in the state have assumed a worrisome ‎dimension, due to their unpaid 11 months’ cooperative deductions.

The state chairman of the union, Olubunmi Fajobi, said this on Wednesday while briefing journalists at its GRA, Ibara, Abeokuta office.

He said majority of civil servants, who were currently being owed 11 months unpaid cooperative deductions, were now living under extreme poverty.

Fajobi also said unpaid gratuities of retirees have been in arrears since October 2012.

Rising from its State Executive Council-in-session on Wednesday, TUC appealed to the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, to pay the workers, because some of the workers in the two categories were dying daily.
