2019: Setback for SDP, Donald Duke as running mate, Mohammed dumps race

For the second time in less than a week, Dr. Junaid Mohammed a Second Republic member of the House of Representatives has come under attack from socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze for saying the South East will not produce the next president in the year 2023.

Reacting to Junaid’s comments, who said the presidency would elude the South East in 2023, Deputy National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze, Chuks Ibegbu, alluded that northerners like Mohammed were the reasons the region was underdeveloped.

In a caustic statement, Ibegbu said he; “wondered whom Juanid Mohammed is representing as the North he is claiming to be speaking for did not send him to make such verbose claim nor is the North monolithic again.

“Its people like Junaid Mohammed that has kept the North underdeveloped with fixated and unbridled views.”

Ibegbu also wondered why Mohammed “takes every opportunity he has to make uncharitable and provocative comments on the Igbos in particular and the South in general.

“Mohammed should turn a new leaf and stop preaching divisive mantra at his age when he should be a role model to Northern youths,” he added.

Recall that the National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze, Prince Uche Achi-Okpaga days ago while reacting to the comments said that Junaid was chasing shadows by his declaration.

Achi-Okpaga was also infuriated by Junaid who stated that zoning and rotation of power had collapsed, and as such power must remain in the North in 2023.
