Okey Bakassi, Mercy Aigbe penned to host BON Awards

The organisers of the Best of Nollywood Awards have named the pair of Okey Bakassi and Mercy Aigbe-Gentry as the hosts of the forthcoming awards ceremony scheduled for the 10th of December in the Abia State capital of Umuahia.

The announcement was made by the Executive Producer of the awards, Seun Oloketuyi who also revealed in a message on social media that efforts are underway to organise an award that Nollywood will be proud of.

“It is with all pleasure that we introduce to you the hosts of this year’s Best of Nollywood Awards which will hold in Abia on December 10th 2016. This year we are proud to announce Okey Bakassi and Mercy Aigbe Gentry as hosts of the Awards.” The message by Seun read in part.

Speaking more about the awards Seun said; “BON Awards over the years have evolved into a rally point for the English and Yoruba genre, attracting notable A-listers in the industry.

The names of comedian Okey Bakassi and actress Mercy Aigbe-Gentry will now go down in history as one of the hosts of the awards following in the footsteps of others who have graced the awards stage as comperes in the past like Dj Jimmy Jatt, Deji Falope, Chioma Akpotha, Gbenga Adeyinka 1st, Fred Amata, Gbemi Olateru, Gideon Okeke and Bimbo Akintola.
