Okorocha predicts how long Imo will remain under APC

Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has said that his All Progressives Congress (APC) government of Imo State has achieved so much under seven years of being in control of the state.

He has therefore boasted that the state will be in control of the ruling APC for the next 24 years regardless of the “blackmail or propaganda on social media” by the opposition parties in the state.

This was contained in a statement the governor made available to newsmen in Owerri through his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo.

He added that his political opponents are doing everything possible, including the said attack on Archbishop Anthony Obinna at the weekend, to lunch themselves to relevance in the state.

His son-in-law and the state Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu, was alleged to have supervised an assault on Archbishop Obinna by APC members at the weekend in the state, for speaking truth to power and saying that the governor’s plot to have his son-in-law succeed him will not work.

But in the statement, Okorocha likened his intention to have Uche succeed him as the case of American George Walker Bush, who became the 43rd president, from 2001 to 2009 after his father, George Herbert Walker Bush emerged the country’s 41st president from 1989 to 1993.

He added, “At the moment, the All Progressives Congress, APC, holds the political ace in Imo and will continue to govern the state uninterruptedly for the next twenty-four years.

“What gives victory in an election are achievements and the electorate and not blackmail or propaganda on social media”, the governor said.
