Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh has embarked on a European tour ahead of the back-to-back battle against the Pharaohs of Egypt billed for March 25 and 29 respectively.

The coach, while speaking on a radio station programme monitored in Lagos on Tuesday, revealed that it was not possible for him to be in Nigeria this week for the proposed meeting with the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation.

Oliseh explained: “I cannot come to Nigeria now. I am still going round to talk to the players. I have spoken to those in Holland and Belgium. I still have plans to be in Mainz in Germany and of course some cities in the UK as well.

“As it is, I would have loved to be home now especially with the weather but if I come after the meeting, I will have to be in the hotel for the next two weeks. I have sent message across that I will meet with the committee shortly before we start camping.”

The former international stated that he was impressed with one of the opening matches of the Nigeria Professional Premier League he saw on television.

“I was so amazed to see the crowd that witnessed the Kano Pillars, Rangers match in Kano. It was wonderful and if we could get that kind of turnout in Kaduna against Egypt, it will be great,” Oliseh stressed.

He however asked all stakeholders to channel their energy towards the upcoming matches while pleading for forgiveness for his past mistakes.

He said: “I want to apologise for all that happened in the past. I have relatives, brothers, sisters and parents and to say Nigerians are insane means I am also referring to them and myself.

“Since the context of the point to be made was not understood, we have to move on and face the huge task of fighting Egypt together, rather than fight ourselves.

“It has happened before when there were issue and before you know it, we lost the Nations Cup ticket. This time we want to be in Gabon and we also want to be in Russia for the World Cup.”
