Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has extended invitation to Arsenal starlet Alex Iwobi ahead of next month’s friendly matches.

Iwobi, nephew of Nigerian legend Jay Jay Okocha, already trained with the Super Eagles’ Under-23 team in March, and has represented England at the youth level, but with none of his nine international matches falling under the official FIFA banner, he still has the option to change allegiance.

He couldn’t feature for the Samson Siasia-led U-23 Eagles due to the non conclusion of his paperworks by the Nigeria Football Federation to enable him switch his allegiance fully to Nigeria.

And, with the 19-year-old holding permanent Nigerian citizenship, world football’s governing body have confirmed he is eligible for selection in Sunday Oliseh’s Super Eagles squad.

Iwobi could now make his first-team debut against the Democratic Republic of Congo on October 8.

The Super Eagles will then square off against Cameroon three days later, with both matches taking place in Belgium.
