Oliseh named Best Coach in Netherlands second division

Sunday Oliseh has been voted as best coach for the first period of the Dutch second division this season, thanks to his managerial heroics with his club, Fortuna Sittard.

The former Nigeria international, who has so far led the club to third on the table after 11 games, was named best manager as one his players, Perr Sabry was also named the best talent.

“I’m very honored to win this prize because this is the result of hard work and a lot of help from my players, the fans, my assistants, our chairman Isitan Gün and above all God!,” Oliseh told Fortuna website.

Oliseh took over the Dutch club in the middle of last season on an 18-month contract, and helped them escape relegation by securing 29 points from the 23 games left at the time he took over.

This season, Oliseh led Fortuna to a club record eight consecutive home victory, also grabbing a record highest away win as a coach with a 6-0 victory against Telstar in September.

Fortuna have also advanced to the third round of the Dutch Cup for the first time in 18 years following their victory against Go Ahead Eagles in October.
