Olujimi gets INEC’s Certificate of Return

Senator Olujimi, Faseyi lose Senatorial to APC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued a Certificate of Return to Senator Abiodun Olujimi in obedience to a Court of Appeal order.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announced this in a post on its Facebook page on Wednesday, with a photo showing the senator displaying the certificate.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Kaduna had on November 6, reaffirmed the earlier ruling of the National and State Assemblies Election Tribunal, which declared Olujimi as the winner of February 23, 2019, senatorial election in Ekiti South Senatorial District.

The court, while declaring Olujimi as the winner of the election, ordered INEC to withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to Senator Dayo Adeyeye of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who was earlier declared the winner of the poll.

Olujimi also represented Ekiti South in the 8th Senate.
