Olympic Football: Spain win gold after beating hosts France in thrilling final
Spain have emerged champions of Olympics football after defeating hosts France in a thrilling final on Friday night.
Spain, who won the Euro 2024 after beating England in the final few weeks ago, continued their recent dominance of international football.
Spain also won the men’s under-19 European title last month, while the women’s team lifted the World Cup last year.

After a 3-3 full time score at the Parc des Princes in Paris, Spain scored two goals in extra time to seal a big victory.
Both goals by Sergio Camello sparked jubilations among the Spanish, as they won Olympic gold for the first time since 1992.
“It wasn’t easy to build this team up, but I’m proud of the work we did,” said Thierry Henry, who managed the French Olympic team.
