Omotola supports Dino Melaye’s anti-tribal mark bill

Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde is in support of Senator Dino Melaye’s move to sponsor a bill to stop tribal marks incision on kids which was mooted after a photo of a toddler with fresh cuts as tribal marks went viral on social media over the weekend.

“This barbaric act must stop. National Identity card is enough to identify where individuals come from. Support my bill to stop this,” Melaye wrote on his Twitter page.

The picture of the baby with marks which runs through the length of his face to his scalp sparked outrage on social media prompting Omotola to join the campaign against the trend by lending her voice against the disturbing act.

In her reply, Omotola took to her Twitter page in support of the move by Dino Melaye when she tweeted thus; “I support a Bill against this practice,” Omotola said, “Like female mutilation, or child marriage, No permanent/life impairing decision should be taken on behalf of a child.”
