Onazi eyes World Cup, Nations Cup tickets for Eagles

Ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of nations qualifier against South Africa, Nigeria’s Ogenyi Onazi has declared that featuring at the tournament in Cameroon and also at the World Cup in Russia remain the major target of the Super Eagles.

The 24-year-old midfielder believes that the current players in the national team can make the feat based on the display of confidence and ambition in camp ahead of the game which holds this Saturday.

Onazi however has described the contest against the Bafana Bafana as “a big game.”

“It is a big game, and we are one for the big occasion,” The Trabzonspor star told thenff.com.

“I have confidence in the group that we have now and the ambition oozing in the camp. We want to go to the World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations. Starting well on Saturday will be key to our aspiration.”

The Eagles will face South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo this weekend, before facing other Group E members, Seychelles and Libya in their quest for Afcon ticket.
