Barely after 48 hours after his declaration to contest the primaries of the All Progressives Congress, APC for the governorship election in Ondo State, a former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Victor Olabintan, has been kidnapped in Abuja.

Confirming the development, the secretary of the Olabintan Campaign Organization, Gboyega Ajayi, said Olabintan was kidnapped on his way to Abuja from Akure, the capital of Ondo.

According to him, the APC governorship aspirant was kidnapped at Kwali after he was stopped at a military checkpoint by fake soldiers who turned out to be kidnappers, adding that the police in the FCT are currently on the trail of the kidnappers.
