Ondo APC sacks chairman who didn't support Gov Akeredolu's candidature

Ondo State All Progressives Congress (APC) has sacked its chairman, Isaac Kekemeke, who allegedly wanted a different candidate asides present Governor Rotimi Akeredolu during the governorship primary
election of the party in the state last year.

Kekemeke was said to have supported Dr Segun Abraham, a candidate also
favoured by APC leader, Bola Tinubu, against Governor Akeredolu, an action some said his party members were yet to forgive him for and which may have led to him being booted out.

His removal came following a vote of no confidence passed on him by the State Executive Committee (SEC) of the APC.

After his removal the SEC directed the deputy state chairman, Ade Adetimehin to step in.

In his explanation on why the former chairman was removed by the SEC,
the party’s Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Adesanya said “failing to discharge his responsibilities, neglect and dereliction of duty, among other offences in compliance with Article 21(D)(vi), of the Constitution of the APC, (October 2014 as amended) ,” landed Kekemeke in his present predicament.

“A three-man fact-finding disciplinary committee has been set up to
investigate the former chairman,” he added.

According to him, Ade Adetimehin, has unanimously been chosen to act
as the state chairman forthwith, pending the outcome of report of the three-man disciplinary committee.
