Ondo commissioner laments, says state lost $1.2m to data falsification

The government of Ondo State has lamented the loss of $1.2 million due to data falsification by some of its officials.

It also noted that the state’s reputations was also battered by the ugly situation.

The Health Commissioner, Dr. Wahab Adegbenro said this at a one day training for Medical Record Officers of Secondary Health facilities in Akure on Tuesday.

Adegbenro, who said the loss of funds was worrisome to government, said: “government would no longer allow such slip in future, hence the need to train staff on data gathering.”

“The training is very important to the state as it has just come out of a data falsification saga which had cost the state $1.2 million and a battered reputation”, he said.

He added that the state government would not relent in ensuring sanity in the civil service.
