ONDO: Daredevil robbers attack bank, kill 3 policemen, cart away millions

Pandemonium struck at lfon in Ondo State when a bank located at Ose local government area was attacked by daredevil armed robbers numbering up to 20.

According to residents in the area, the bandits gained entry into the bank when they bombed the electronic entrance of the premises with a dynamite but that was after they killed three policemen stationed at the bank..

Recounting the incident, an eyewitness said the robbers appeared to be conversant with security arrangement at the bank.

The witness said; “They came in three buses and they were up to 20 in number, they were heavily armed.

“When they got to the entrance, they could not enter easily because the bank had stopped attending to customers; so they had to blow the door up with dynamite.

“For several minutes, there was shooting everywhere; the three policemen that engaged them were killed but none of the robbers was killed.”

The incident was confirmed by Femi Joseph, Ondo State Police Command spokesperson who gave the names of the officers killed as Jimoh Adeniyi, Alex Sampson and Oluwole Daramola.

He also confirmed that the cops lost their lives because “they were overpowered by the robbers in gun battle”.
