ONDO: Man In police net for killing brother-in-law over N30,000 debt

A suspect named Segun Oni was arrested by the Ondo State Police Force on Monday for allegedly killing his brother-in-law, Sunday Oluwadare over a N30,000 debt.

According to the police, the deceased was allegedly hit on the head with a big stick after a heated argument ensued between them at Adebowale area of Akure.

Spokesman for the force in the state, Mr Femi Joseph, who confirmed the suspect’s arrest said:

“He is with us and we have commenced investigations into the matter.”

A source who spoke to journalists about the incident said:

“The disagreement led to a fight between them. As the fight went on, Sunday overpowered Oni. So he (suspect) managed to leave the scene and returned with a big stick to hit Sunday on the head.

“Sunday was rushed to the Ondo State Specialist Hospital, Akure, but gave up the ghost on the way to the hospital.”
