One day after Saraki’s meeting with PDP leaders, Buhari hosts him
President Muhamamdu Buhari played host to Senate President Bukola Saraki in Aso Rock Presidential Villa one day after the senate president met with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders in Illorin, Kwara State, amidst defection rumours.
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and some state governors elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) also joined the meeting held inside the president’s office.

The governors included Katsina State governor, Aminu Masari; Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari; Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu; and Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun.
Ekiti State Governor-elect, Kayode Fayemi, also attended.
Saraki declined to comment when State House correspondents approached him after the meeting that lasted about 30 minutes.
