One person killed during APC and APM clash in Ogun

A supporter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) was reportedly killed while several were injured on Thursday during a clash between followers of the APC and Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ifo local government area of Ogun state.

It was gathered that a supporter of the APM killed the APC follower by knocking the victim down with a vehicle during a mega rally in Ifo LGA in preparation for the governorship and house of assembly elections in the state.

While reacting to the incident, an APC supporter and Deputy Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly, Olukunle Oluomo disclosed that the incident happened moments after a peaceful rally was conducted.

Oluomo said:

“Our members allowed the APM members who were in some vehicles to pass without hindrance only for one of them to knock one of our members down.’’

The Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident to journalists said 10 suspects in connection with the crisis had been arrested.

He added that the driver had been arrested and the bus which was used to kill the deceased had also been seized.
