#OneVoiceNigeria: Protesters troop out in Lagos, Abuja, Ogun as police mount security (Photos)

The capital city of Abuja is abuzz with hundreds of youth thronging then streets as the #OcuppyNigeria protest takes off in Abuja despite police disapproval to the procession.

Reports say placard carrying youths with various inscriptions dressed in different shades of green, carrying placards and banners are causing traffic gridlock on busy roads in the capital.

In Lagos, eccentric entertainer Charlyboy, comedian Seyi Law and publisher of Sahara Reporters founder Omoyele Sowore joined protesters who gathered at the National Stadium to kick off demonstrations against President Muahammadu Buhari’s led government with reports revealing that heavy presence could be seen at the Gani Fawehinmi Park.

In Edo, demonstrators demanded more youth leaders for Nigeria while in Port Harcourt; the protests were called off due to security reasons.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Police Command has deployed its officers at strategic locations especially all routes leading to the governor’s office in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State over the protest holding nationwide.

Men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, a team of regular policemen and mobile policemen are positioned to quell any form of likely violence during the protests which is gradually gathering momentum.

    When will Nigerian poor masses be free? A liter of Kerosene now cost NGN250, a bag of Rice NGN23k, a bag of cement cost NGN2.5k and 16mm rod that was NGN1.8k now cost NGN5k each, the list is unending. a 12”*12” room now rents for NGN5k while a two bed rooom flat rents for NGN300k pa to 450k.
    Inflation has never gotten to thsi level before and no hope nor program in sight.
    Which way Nigeria or when will Nigeria be free.
