Onnoghen: NJC confirms Tuesday meeting

To deliberate the perceived clampdown on the judicial system in Nigeria, various judicial bodies have scheduled emergency meetings to address the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.

Contrary to earlier speculations, the National Judicial Council (NJC) is expected to hold its meeting on Tuesday, while the Nigerian Bar Association holds theirs while the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria has called its meeting for Wednesday.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the National President of JUSUN, Comrade Marwan Mustapha Adamu, the union said it would deliberate on the current happenings in the Judiciary and take a stand after the meeting.

NBA gave the notice of its meeting in a statement signed by its National Secretary, Jonathan Taidi.

Expected at the meeting are National Officers, Past Presidents, Past General Secretaries, Branch Chairmen, Branch Secretaries, Branch NEC Representatives, Chairmen and Secretaries of Sections.
