ONNOGHEN’S SUSPENSION: NJC holds emergency meeting

NJC recommends immediate compulsory retirement of Onnoghen

The National Judicial Council (NJC) has started an emergency meeting in Abuja to deliberate on the suspension of the Chief Justice of the Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen.

The meeting which is ongoing is expected to help in bringing a resolution to the legal logjam that the suspension of Onnoghen and appointment of Tanko Mohammed as acting CJN have created.

Neither the embattled Justice Onnoghen nor the acting CJN, Mohammed is expected to preside over the meeting it was learnt.
