Onyekuru eyes Europa League success with Galatasaray

Super Eagles forward, Henry Onyekuru is keen on representing his club Galatasaray in the Europa League the best way possible.

Despite their 2-3 defeat at home to Porto in their final Champions League group game on Tuesday night, the Turkish giants finished third ahead of Lokomotiv Moscow, who lost 1-0 to Schalke 04.

Speaking after the game on Tuesday night, Onyekuru said he was proud of his side’s performance, and would hope that they correct their mistakes as they go into Europa.

”Of course we wanted to win,” the Everton loanee was quoted by CSN.

“We didn’t want to lose our last match in the Champions League. On the other hand, our performance today and the fight we showed until the last minute made me happy.

“We had some luck, we couldn’t evaluate some positions and we made simple mistakes. We will try to correct our mistakes by working with our coach on these shortcomings.

“We want to represent our club in the UEFA Europa League in the best way by working on the mistakes we have made in the Champions League.”
